Why join a spiritual group? A spiritual group can be very inspiring, uplifting, and transformative.
I started a spiritual group, Soulspirational Wellness, on Meetup a couple of years ago. As the organizer, I have reaped many rewards. First, besides the birth of my kids and grandkids, I have never felt so blessed. The beautiful souls that have graced our Center have truly lifted me up. This is the cliché of when you help others, you help yourself.
I wanted to offer a space that would be safe for people to share their views, thoughts, and struggles. I hoped this space would be one in which I could help lift others up when feeling down. I saw it being one in which I could offer guidance and support as they navigate their spiritual journey. Not only has all this happened, but I received that in return!
I realize that not every group is created equally. I’ve heard stories about other groups. Here’s the thing; there are many spiritual groups on Meetup. If you attend one and it doesn’t fit with you, try another. Look at past or group reviews. See what others are saying. Look at the people who are attending. Use your intuition and let it guide you to the right group for you.
It isn’t uncommon to hear that members are on a spiritual high for the rest of the day, or a few days following a meetup. Find people who are supportive, loving, and non-judgmental. The right people seem to show up at the right time. Some people come in for a quick spiritual fix and then we may not see them for a while. That’s wonderful because they recognized when they needed the boost and they got it!
Sometimes we test out whether or not we’re ready to take the spiritual path. Some will put a toe in then step back until they’re ready to put a foot in, until they’re ready to immerse themselves. Everyone has the right to take as much time, if any, on their path or with a group.
The nice thing about attending a spiritual group is knowing you’re not alone in the process. Others are asking soul and life purpose questions. We’re all searching for greater meaning. In a spiritual group, you have spiritual friends to help you along the way.
I wish you all the best on your journey! May it be filled with love and may you feel the divine light within you!
Namaste.
